Get your head out of the clouds.
Be realistic.
That’s impossible!
You’re just dreaming.
As someone who lives in a magical reality, I’m often confronted with the idea of the “real world”.
Modern society seems to have a very clear idea of what’s real—
🦁 Lions — YES
🦄 Unicorns — NO
🌀 GOD — UNDECIDED
Yet the taxonomical decisions about what’s real have never made sense to me.
My categorization would look more like this:
🦁 Lions — PROBABLY
🦄 Unicorns — PROBABLY (NOT IN THIS REALM)
🌀 GOD — PROBABLY (DEPENDS ON HOW IT’S DEFINED)
The Truth is… there’s just so much we don’t know.
And even more that we might experience if we’re paying attention.
While it might feel comfortable for some to limit the scope of existence to what we can know and prove, for others this very Western way of relating feels stifling.
The vast realms of possibility available to those who explore magic make the question of “the real world” an important exploration.
So the heretical question for tonight’s Heretic Happy Hour will be:
What is the Real World?
Which world is real—the one given to us by our culture… our time… the pressures of those around us?
Or the realm of Spirit… Nature… the timeless and numinous?
Every day, we’re pressured to choose one or the other, but this duality is what makes Planet Earth so special.
What does the real world mean to you?
And where do you choose to live?
Join us for a heretical exploration…
